Your local herbalist is an important resource for information and remedies that empower you and your family. Herbalists are not doctors and do not diagnose illness. They do, however, provide information and resources about the historic and traditional uses of herbs and how you and your family can use them safely and effectively. Herbalists respect your right and responsibility to make informed choices for yourself and your family.
What to expect from an herbal consultation:
- Before the first meeting, you will complete and return a detailed intake form.
- Our first appointment will be our longest. We’ll review the details of your intake for clarity and understanding. Together, we will generate options to address the purpose of your visit. These options may relate to foods, exercise, lifestyle, herbal remedies, aromatherapy or other therapies.
- Within a few days of our meeting, you will receive a written protocol detailing our discussion and the products, if any, you ordered.
- If you decide it is appropriate, we will schedule a followup appointment to review progress and consider further options.
April O’Keefe is available for consults by appointment at Saco Healing Arts Center. She provides service regardless of ability to pay the standard fees listed below. Feel free to ask about sliding scale. Veterans are not charged for consultation, but donations are accepted if they insist.
Standard fees:
Initial 1½ hour consultation: $80
Regular office visit: $65 per hour ($35 for ½ hour)
Prices do not include herbs or herbal products
Workshop fees vary according to topic and materials
Payment:
Payment is due at the time of visit
Cash, checks, and credit (through PayPal) accepted
Gift certificates are available
